A moment in time, which now feels like a very long time ago, Jim St Pierre<\/a> approached me with this industry legends toolbox for veterans<\/a> idea. His goal was to get eight signatures of legends in our kustom kulture industry. You know, the ones that impact us gear heads\u00a0everyday; Chip Foose<\/a>, George Barris<\/a>, Gene Winfield<\/a> and the like. Jim<\/a> figured I could help a little with awareness in our social media and maybe I knew a couple of people to ask,\u2026.<\/p>\n

Jim<\/a> got Penny Pichette (Queen of kustoms<\/a>) involved and the door to West Coast Kustoms<\/a> Hall of Fame opened. We had the incredible privilege to have many more legends like Steve Stanford<\/a>, Bill Hines<\/a> and the late Jack Stewar<\/a>t (RIP) sign and generously lend their support for our veteran\u2019s. I\u00a0found the energy levels and sincerity by all both intoxicating and motivating.<\/p>\n

Then Jim<\/a> arranged for us to hit LA Roadster Show<\/a>. If I remember correctly, I\u00a0was able to meet, greet and have 17 industry celebrities, many whom I\u2019m also incredibly fortunate to call my friends, sign the Veterans Toolbox<\/a>. Larry<\/a>, Betty<\/a>, Butch<\/a>, Jim<\/a> and the entire Volunteers for veterans\/Veterans Car Show<\/a> Crew have supported and worked diligently towards the success of this legendary piece of kustom kulture collectible!!! Now that I look back at this incredible journey to meet most of them and have the privilege to document 53 industry legend signatures and\/or multiple signed collector item contributions. I\u2019m truly humbled and grateful to all involved.<\/p>\n

This once in a lifetime Veterans Toolbox<\/a>, auction opportunity is coming up on October 5th, during the Veterans Car Show<\/a> at the Loma Linda VA Hospital<\/a>. Pre-qualified phone bidding can be arranged for those unable to attend this awesome 1200 car, filled to capacity car show!!     Legends Toolbox<\/a> with be offered for sale Oct 5 2014 at the live auction at approximately 2:00 PM. The auction will take place at the main stage.<\/p>\n

    The highest bidder will take home this once in a lifetime piece of automobile memorabilia. It is signed by 50 of the past and present legends of the hot rod and custom world. A complete list is shown above. This box has been all over the State gathering the names you see here. One name, a true legend, Jack Stewart<\/a>, passed away not long after signing the box. Von Hotrod<\/a> did the pin striping and lettering while yours truly, K. Mikael Wallin<\/a>\u00a0had the incredible honor to shot the photos and promotion =D<\/p>\n

    Also enclosed with the box is an American flag flown in Iraq, and a copy of Rodders Journal autographed by Steve Stanford<\/a>. There are also autographed tools that have been sent in, that will be included in this package.<\/p>\n

    This is an American flag that was flown in Iraq during the conflicts there. It was donated by Karl Meier, Staff Sergeant USMC, KC-130 Navigator. It was on such missions as air fueling, combat resupply, ammunition and fuel. It also accompanied our fallen service men and women as they were flown out of the theater. It will be included as part of the package with the Legends Toolbox . I\u2019m honored to have carried and captured it for our cause =D<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

    This welding helmet was donated by Justin Hills<\/a> from Australia. Justin<\/a> built the Atom and won Americas Most Beautiful Custom in 2013<\/a>. He used this helmet, signed it, then sent it to us so that he could be part of supporting our Veterans. It will be part of the package with the Veterans Toolbox auctioned on on Oct 5th at Loma Linda VA Hospital.<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
