Mocking up Jim’s hood peak turning a 3 pc hood into a peaked one piece hood.

We also narrowed it about one inch at the front base, two and a half inches at the peak and pushed the peak of the nose back almost two inches. The peak insert was made by giving a strip of 4″ x5″ 18 gauge some compound shape with a planishing hammer, then adding a peak in the brake with two reverse breaks coming to a point about 4/5 th of the way towards the rear of the hood. Fine tuning with a shrinker/stretcher to achieve a slightly higher crown than needed. This was done to allow some shrinkage during welding.
