Hello all…Scotto here!
A brief biographical sketch of myself. It started when I was just a little guy in the 60’s. I started building model kit cars, visiting with my gear-head uncles in Southwest Florida which grew into wrenching on my own bicycles, building more models and such. That early exposure started me going to car shows, races, riding motorcycles and cruise nights where ever I lived throughout this United States and in Mexico City where I lived for a couple years. I carried around a little Kodak camera during those early years. I spent a hitch in the Air Force, started a career, and got married to my wife Armi. Attending shows and races of many persuasions continued. My 1st car in high-school was a 62 Mercury Monterey followed by a 67 Chevy truck then on to dailies that deserve no recognition. At one point I traded a Honda ATC for a 64 Type 34 Karmann Ghia that I didn’t have time for and sold it. Then I pulled the trigger in 2004 on my current project, the 51 Chevy followed by my wife’s 63 Suburban we’ve had now for a couple years.
I started tinkering around with photography in the early 80’s and shelved it after a few years and got back into it in 2000 when digital started getting popular and haven’t stopped since. I enjoy it, am constantly learning and like experimenting with different techniques along the way. Hope you enjoy what I bring to the Customikes Experience.
This my ride…a 51 Chevy Bel-Air. It had the top removed and windscreen chopped with a 235/3 speed, frightening wiring and no glass in it when I bought it. I installed a Smedding Performance SS350 and a th350 after I took it to Gambino Kustoms who made custom motor mounts, installed the 68 Camaro rear, Fatman Mustang II front suspension and airbags all the way around. I wired it, plumbed it, and made custom bumper guard taillights. Currently I’m making a Carson inspired lift off top for it.
